About Jacaranda Roofing
We read the roof before we talk about the tile
Serving North Hollywood and nearby areas, Jacaranda Roofing starts with the shape of the roof, the sun it takes and the rules at the address.

Where the work begins
In Los Angeles County, Jacaranda Roofing replaces roofs, strips them to the deck for a reroof and builds new ones. Tile is where we begin, because a tile roof asks the most questions about weight, underlayment and color, and those same questions shape every other covering we install.
Start with a hip roof. It slopes down on four sides, so the south face, the west face and the two shaded faces all age differently. A covering chosen for one of them has to work on the rest. That is why we walk every slope, not just the one with the stain.
The second half of the job is paperwork. Each address sits under a city or county that has its own permit office and its own reading of the cool roof and fire rules. We find that office early, so the scope you sign already knows what the inspector will look for.

How we work
Four habits run through every job, from the first call to the last inspection.
Walk every face
We look at each slope, the ridge and hips, the valleys and the edges. The scope lists what each face needs, so nothing is priced from one corner of the roof.
Pick the covering for the sun
Color, finish and weight change how a roof handles heat. We talk through cool rated options for your slope before anything is ordered.
Name the code at the address
Cool roof values, fire class and permit path depend on where the house stands. We write those items into the scope in plain words.
Finish at the inspection
The job ends when the inspector has seen the roof and the paperwork is returned. Until then the work is not closed.
The jobs we take
Full roof jobs: replacement, tear-off reroofs and new roofs, in tile, shingle, metal and flat systems. The form takes any roof job.
About roofing companies
How many roofing contractors are in the US?
Federal figures count workers, not companies. For 2025 the Bureau of Labor Statistics lists 166,900 roofer jobs nationwide, and its May 2023 survey puts the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim area at about 4,680 roofers.
Can a general contractor do roofing work in California?
It depends on what the contract covers. Roofing can ride along inside a larger project run by a general building contractor, but a contract for the roof alone goes to a roofing contractor.
How long does the average roofing contractor stay in business?
That depends on the business, so look at the one in front of you. The state's online contractor lookup shows how long a business has held its standing in the roofing class and whether that standing is current today.
